Seit Jahren spüre ich einer
Erinnerung an Godard
nach, die mich nie losgelassen hat, auch wenn ich zugeben muss, dass ich nie wirklich systematisch nach ihr recherchierte. Mir steht eine Szene vor Augen, die ich beim ersten Sehen, vor sehr langer Zeit, als
krasse Obszönität
empfand. Meine Liebe zu Godard kratzte sie dennoch kein bisschen an. Diese Liebe blieb noch lange Zeit intakt, in melancholischen Bruchstücken bis heute.

Nüchtern, ja fast schon kleinlaut liest sich die jüngste Pressemitteilung (hier als pdf-Dokument) der
Verwertungsgesellschaft Wort
: Das Landgericht München I habe "eine Entscheidung getroffen, die nicht zugunsten der VG Wort ausgefallen ist. In dem Rechtsstreit geht es um die Frage, ob eine Beteiligung von Verlagen an den Auszahlungen der VG Wort zulässig ist."

Allenthalben wird in den deutschen Zeitungen mal wieder das "
geistige Eigentum
" verteidigt. Aus dem Internet schlägt diesen Artikeln, anders als zur Zeit der Print-versus-Blog-Debatte kaum mehr Widerstand entgegen – zumindest publizistisch nicht, denn natürlich sind die Artikel in den Zeitungen selbst Reaktion auf den erfolgreichen Protest gegen

Jahrhundert bilanzierte. Noch 1997/98 konnte diese Bilanz einen

Thilo Sarrazin kam den
Feinden von Islamkritikerinnen
wie Necla Kelek oder Ayaan Hirsi Ali wie gerufen. Er liefert ihnen endlich das Szenario, von dem sie schon lange träumten. Sarrazin entstellt ihnen mit seiner eugenischen Argumentation die verhasste Kritik von Religion und Tradition und unseren Arrangements mit der Malaise zu angeblicher Kenntlichkeit.

Richard Stallman hat Dan Halberts Geschichte im Jahr 1997 geschrieben. Sie war schon damals keine reine Science fiction. In diesem Nachtrag aus dem Jahr 2007 zeigt Stallman, einer der Pioniere der Freien-Software-Bewegung, welche Zensurmechanismen inzwischen von Industrie und Regierungen verwirklicht wurden. Der Kampf um das
Recht zu lesen
wird schon heute geführt. Es wird vielleicht noch 50 Jahre dauern, bis unsere heutige Lebensweise in Vergessenheit geraten ist, doch die meisten der oben beschriebenen Gesetze und Praktiken wurden bereits zur Diskussion gestellt; zum Teil sind sie in den USA und anderen Ländern schon heute geltendes Recht. In den USA hat der 1998 verabschiedete Digital Millenium Copyright Act (DMCA) die gesetzlichen Grundlagen dafür gelegt, das Lesen und Verleihen von digital verfügbaren Büchern (und anderen Werken) einzuschränken. Die Europäische Union hat mit einer 2001 verabschiedeten Copyright-Direktive ähnliche Einschränkungen ermöglicht. In Frankreich ist es aufgrund des 2006 beschlossenen DADVSI-Gesetzes bereits ein Verbrechen, das freie Programm DeCSS, das das Entschlüsseln von DVD-Videos ermöglicht, auch nur zu besitzen.
