Architecture for the City - Hardcover

Max Dudler, born in 1949 in Switzerland, commutes in his work between Berlin and Zurich. With the construction of the new Bewag office building on the Gendarmenmarkt in Berlin (1997), the renovation of the Sale e Tabacchi Restaurant (1996), the first prize for the Foreign Ministry (1996), the first prize for the Federal Ministry of Transportation, Building and Housing (1996) and the Unter den Linden and Brandenburger Tor train stations, and many other projects, his work is directly connected with the design and construction of the New Berlin. With the design of the Hardturm Stadium, the construction of the IBM building and the Diax high-rise, Dudler is now building larger projects in Switzerland as well. As a former student of Oswald Mathias Ungers, his architecture stands for a rationalistic language. The monograph is a broad overview of the architect's work. It features texts by Wolfgang Pauser, J. Christoph Burkle, Max Dudler, Gerwin Zohlen and Cordula Seger.
