Außer Atem: Das Berlinale Blog 11.02.2010 Ein Filmfestival von der Größe der Berlinale ist immer vieles auf einmal. Ein Wirtschaftsunternehmen zuerst, das auf die Gunst von staatlichen Geldgebern und privaten Sponsoren angewiesen und von beiden darum zu einem gewissen Grad abhängig ist. Den Gönnern hat es etwas zu bieten, ein Renommee, das sich Stars auf roten Teppichen sehr viel eher als großer Filmkunst verdankt. Ein A-Festival wie die Berlinale ist zugleich ein Ereignis, auf das die machtvollen Interessen der nationalen Filmproduktion starken Druck ausüben. Man will eine Leistungsschau des im eigenen Land produzierten Kinos, also möglichst viele "eigene" Filme im Wettbewerb. Die Granden der Industrie, die in Deutschland gar keine, sondern ein stark fernsehgestützter Subventionsbetrieb ist, sitzen dem Festivalleiter unweigerlich im Genick. Dazu kommt ein längst globalisierter Verkaufsbetrieb mit den Filmverkäufern als einflussreichen Figuren, die jedes Festival in die Knie zwingen könnten, das sich den in Euro und Cent artikulierten Absichten allzu deutlich verweigert. Damit ist nicht der separat stattfindende Markt angesprochen, sondern insbesondere der Wettbewerb als Börse, die Aufmerksamkeitswerte handelt. Von
