Nach "Before Sunrise" und "Before Sunset" liegt nun der dritte Teil von Richard Linklaters Trilogie des Lebens vor. Zuerst begegneten sich der ewig adoleszente Amerikaner Jesse und die sprunghafte Französin Céline in einem Zug nach Wien, wo sie eine kurze und
weniger heftige als dialoglastige Nacht
miteinander verbrachten. Dann trafen sie sich Jahre später in Célines Heimatstadt Paris wieder, wohin es Jesse auf einer Lesereise anlässlich seines Romandebüts verschlug. Die Handlung: Jesse und Célines Wiener Gspusi. Das Ende dieses zweiten Teils ließ offen, ob die beiden diesmal zusammenbleiben würden.

Mit
Holz
kann man gut arbeiten, auch als Filmemacher. Bäume werden gefällt und zersägt, Bretter gestapelt und gehobelt, mitunter fallen Späne, mal fängt man sich einen Splitter ein, mal kracht die ganze Chose zusammen. Und wenn das Holz erst einmal Feuer gefangen hat, brennt es natürlich wunderbar. Angesichts dieser symbolischen Qualitäten ist es kein Wunder, dass sich Thanos Anastopoulos für seine Parabel auf die griechische Krise "Die Tochter" ein Holzdepot als Ort der Handlung ausgesucht hat.
